Interview with Julie
Since we launched our newsletter, each month we have gradually introduced you to the Toys Direct To Your Door team. This month it's Julie's turn.
In this interview, Julie explains how long she's worked for the company, which toys have proven popular over the Easter break and which one toy she would love to bring back from her childhood.
Julie, what does your job at Toys Direct To Your Door involve?
My responsibilities mainly include taking orders, getting stock out and packing everything up ready for delivery. I also deal with any questions or problems customer's may have, stock control and the booking & receiving of deliveries.
Toys Direct To Your Door has been in the Toy business since 1996. The company's roots reach back as far as 1875. Does your passion for toys date back many years?
Is there anyone who doesn’t? It reminds us of being young and carefree!
If there was one toy you could bring back from your childhood, what would it be?
From a young age I always enjoyed being outside, so I love the simple things like skipping ropes, hula-hoops and roller skates - they bring back many memories. I also played a lot of team games like rounders, football and tigs.
What do you enjoy most about working for Toys Direct To Your Door?
We all work as one big team, working with one another to get everything done. I also love seeing all the new and different toys.
I'm sure the warehouse has been a little busier than usual in the last couple of weeks with the kids being off school? Which toys have been proving particularly popular?
Playmobil and Sylvanian Families have been the most popular especially as both these ranges have introduced new products for Easter.
Finally, the weather is (slowly) improving and our days are getting longer. At this time of year the kids enjoy nothing more than playing outdoors. Which toys do you expect to go down well this summer?
I think the Aquaplay will be good for the summer and the garden tools will help kids get involved with parents working outdoors.
